- IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS - Always use ethanol fireplace fuel and light the burner from full - when you can see the ethanol liquid pooling on the grate of the burner cup. If the burner is lit while half full, it can light with a low flame that will grow after a few minutes once the wick has drawn the ethanol to the surface. Incorrect fuel types will not light or burn with a large bright flame.
